| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] [size=25]Update #16: redsn0w version 0.9.9b8 will natively recognize the 5.0.1 beta that Apple let developers start testing this week (so you don’t have to play the “point at 5.0 IPSW” trick). Because the IPSW isn’t public, you’ll still need to provide it once to redsn0w (at which point it will cache all the important pieces so you don’t need to select it again).[/size] [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][/size] | |

| [size=16]Apple Seeds iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 to Developers[/size] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Well, here’s something we didn’t expect. Apple has just seeded a second beta of iOS 5.0.1 to developers. It’s hard to recall a time when the Cupertino company released a beta version of any incremental iOS update, but a second is almost unheard of. The first iteration of iOS 5.0.1 was released just two days ago. The update brought about all kinds of maintenance, including patches for the infamous battery bug and the Smart Cover issue. We haven’t noticed any changes in beta 2 as of yet… But if you have an Apple developer account, you can head over to the Dev Center and download it. We’ve actually been having trouble getting the full version of the software, so if you’re having issues you may want to try the over-the-air option. Remember, to download updates OTA, just open the Settings app, tap General, and then Software Update. If you are jailbroken or are not registered as a developer, you won’t be able to access it. We’ll let you know if we find any notable changes. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| Apple has launched iTunes Match with the release of iTunes 10.5.1 today. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] iTunes Match If you want the benefits of iTunes in the Cloud for music you haven't purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution. It's built right into the iTunes app on your Mac or PC and the Music app on your iOS devices. And it lets you store your entire collection, including music you've imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than iTunes. For just $24.99 a year. Here's how it works: iTunes determines which songs in your collection are available in the iTunes Store. Any music with a match is automatically added to iCloud. Since there are more than 20 million songs in the iTunes Store, most of your music is probably already in iCloud. All you have to upload is what iTunes can't match. Which is much faster than starting from scratch. Once your music is in iCloud, you can stream and store it on any of your devices. Even better, all the music iTunes matches plays back from iCloud at 256-Kbps AAC DRM-free quality - even if your original copy was of lower quality. You can download iTunes 10.5.1 from the link below...[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| Tentative iOS 5.0.1 Support Even though there is still no working solution for restoring 5.x on iPhone 4S I have released a 5.01.00 so you can at least save 5.0.1 SHSH. I have added tentative support for at least saving 5.0.1 SHSHs for iPhone 4S but as of now we are unable to use them fully. As soon as more information is available I will update. | Help the Chronic Dev-Team Find a Jailbreak Vulnerability Using Their New Tool [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Help Us Help You: Send Us Your Crash Reports Instead of allowing this vicious cycle to continue, we decided to write a new program to turn Apple’s own beast against its master, per se. All this program requires from you is to attach your iOS device to your computer and click a single button! At this point, the program copies all the crash reports off your device (which, under normal circumstances, would be sent right back to Apple), and instead sends this data to a secure, private server hosted by your friendly Chronic Dev team. Next, our program proceeds to neuter your copy of iTunes, simply by changing your settings to prevent your computer from sending any further diagnostic information from your device to Apple. Using this agglomeration of your crash reports and our ninja skills, Chronic Dev will be able to quickly pinpoint vulnerabilities in various programs by using the same techniques Apple currently employs. At the very least, your data will help point us in the direction of which applications are the most vulnerable, so we can focus our time & energy on these with laser-like intensity. And, of course, this will also prevent Apple from accessing all your valuable data, just so they can then turn around and use it against you. | Tiny Umbrella Updated 5.10.01(ApNonce Support) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] TinyUmbrella - 5.10.01 - Added an explicit ApNonce to the SHSH request. Probably should get the latest and save your 5.0.1. (Just in case) APTicket update I've pushed a version of TinyUmbrella that will add an ApNonce to the APTicket request. There is no simple way to handle saving both types of SHSH (one with no ApNonce in the request and one with an ApNonce in the request). At least, there is no simple way for me to do it in the time that I have available for such a change. In order to be the ABSOLUTE safest, your best bet would be to zip up your .shsh directory and put it in a safe place. Normally I would do something to save this for you but it would be a rather bit TU change for me to manage saving two types of the same SHSH version. I will keep you posted as I discover more information about what details are and are not important. | Notcom releases TinyCFW: Create a custom IPSW for iPad2 and iPhone4 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] TinyCFW is a simple tool I put together for a friend of mine. He has an iPad2 GSM and has his 4.3.3 SHSH but since Apple is no longer signing 4.3.3, it isn't possible to downgrade to 4.3.3 without getting stuck in a 1015 recovery loop. What TinyCFW is: * It will modify an existing ipsw for an ipad2 gsm/cdma or iphone4 gsm/cdma * It WILL modify the ipsw TO UPDATE YOUR BASEBAND TO THE LATEST! * It will create an ipsw that you can use with TinyUmbrella AND iTunes to restore to a version of iOS that you have SHSHs for. * It is primarily for iPad2 with a baseband OR iPhone 4. What TinyCFW is NOT: * A jailbreak * An unlock * A tool to protect your baseband. * A tool that will restore your device to any firmware * A tool for use with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad, or iPhone 4S The usage is simple. Start the application (double click on the jar or run the .exe file). You must have java and at least 2.5gb ram. (Yes I know. It's a lot. Get over it. I didn't write this to be massively distributed. I wrote this for a friend and am now just sharing it with everyone). Once the window comes up, click the top button and choose an ipsw for which you have SHSHs for. The app will scan it and tell you the firmware and baseband versions in the ipsw you selected and the firmware and baseband versions that will be in the target ipsw when you click the second button. If you're ready, click 'Save Target IPSW'. This will take a minute or two and when it is finished, you will have a file named: "your original ipsw name".bbupdatez.ipsw. You can use this ipsw with iTunes and TinyUmbrella to restore your iPad2 GSM/CDMA back to say 4.3.3 (if you have 4.3.3 SHSH). This is a VERY initial release. I never intended on it being a massively supported tool. It's just something I used in passing. If it helps you great! This functionality will exist in far more robust form when I finally ever release TinyPwn. Enjoy! NOTE: If you DO NOT have SHSH BLOBS, this will not work for you. | The iPhone Dev-Team has released UltraSn0w 1.25 which brings iOS 5.0.1 support to the unlock for older basebands. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] iPhone Dev Team's iPhone 4, 3G, and 3GS software unlock, now with added PwnApple. Compatible with iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00 and iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 06.15.00! Thanks to @sherif_hashim and @Oranav for contributing baseband crashes UltraSn0w 1.2.5 is now available in Cydia. iPhone3GS owners in our comments section below noticed a problem with the untethered jailbreak available for the old-bootrom 3GS. We've corrected that problem in 0.9.9b9d. If you have an old-bootrom 3GS and have already used last night's redsn0w on it, you can re-run it again without losing anything. Just use this new version, go to Extras->IPSW and manually select the 5.0.1 IPSW, then go back and Jailbreak it again (but you can uncheck Cydia because it's already installed). | ..:: Iphone-dev Team Releases Redsn0w0.9.910b1 5.0.1 untethered Supported ::.. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Untethered holidays @pod2g has created a terrific gift for iOS fans — an untethered 5.0.1 jailbreak for non-A5 devices! Many of you have already been following @pod2g’s [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] where he’s been keeping everyone up to date on his progress. And so you know that he recently decided to push the button on a release for all devices except the new iPhone4S and iPad2. @pod2g’s untether involves two separate exploits and a few other “tricks” — and since he’s taken the @comex approach of doing nearly everything himself, you know his plate has been full these past few months! A few days ago, @pod2g gave the untether to both the iPhone devteam and the chronic devteam. We’ve put it into redsn0w 0.9.10 and PwnageTool, and the chronic devteam put it into a Cydia package (the same set of exploits is in all three).
